I managed to strip the solder pads on pins 2 and 11 of the SNES CIC while installing a SuperCIC, but they both appear to have vias which can easily be soldered to. However, when I power on the console, the screen is garbled as in the picture below.

Does anyone know what the root cause of this is or even what function pins 2 and 11 serve so that I can establish which one isn't connected properly.

Have you tested other games? Might just be a cart issue.

Seems like it could be an encoder issue as well.

I've seen similar corruption with certain games played through copiers, so it probably is CIC related.

I've tried a couple of games and they have the same issues. Forgot to mention that they were initially displaying fine when the wires from the SuperCIC were soldered to the pads on the SNES CIC.

CIC is a case of it working or not working. This looks like cart slot/cart/ram issue to me.

    Check for solder splashes maybe?

It just seems more than coincidental that it was fine before the solder pads on 2 and 11 come loose, but once they did I started having problems with it. The carts are fine and the cart slot looks perfectly clean. On visual inspection, I can't see anything wrong with the RAM.
