    Hey Everyone,

Are regular GB game PCB's compatable with GBC Clear cartrige cases? Ie, do the screw holes and placeholders match up fine?

They should do, I've checked a number of my GB (Grey), GB+GBC (Black) and GBC (Smokey Grey) and the centre screw is in the same place and all the GBC I have (may not be true for all) have the notch on the PCB where the GB case notch would be...

Yep. Planning to swap a flash cart inside a regular GBC case.

There's been quite a few USB Game Boy carts popping up recently. Definitely better than the older EMS carts and previous.

Perhaps you bought the Smart Boy? That comes in a regular cart. BleepBloop carts are already in Game Boy Color cases with the corner cut away so that they work in DMG.

Yep. I got some of those carts and I want to transplant them into a gameboy color case. Will that work?

I can't say for sure, it's a shame I don't have the right screwdriver to check. I'll give it a go now though.

EDIT: Okay, I went out to the garage to get my lighter (despite it being 3am o_O) so that I could burn a BIC pen and open two carts.

I placed Pokémon Gold in a GBC cart as I knew it was a full size PCB and it worked fine. A few pics:

Probably overkill for such a simple request, but hey, this proves it to you.

    "Segata Sanshiro" !!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: How did the bic pen trick work for you? Did you have to heat it up for a long time? How durable is the pen after? Any tips?

And by the way, since you helped me out, I'll keep that Sabrina cartridge between you and me

I also had a Mr Driller one but I didn't want to open it so much. Sabrina came in a bundle with my old Pokémon GBC on eBay.

Anyway, just get a biro, and set the end on fire so the plastic starts melting. Blow out the flame after a few seconds and shove it onto the screw. Apply pressure while the plastic cools down, the plastic will fill the hole then unscrew as desired once it's set.

I find I have to redo it each time I wish to insert/remove a screw, but I don't do it all that often and the pen is reusable.

Glad I could be of service. Big fan of Nintendo's Game Boy. Especially the DMG. :icon_bigg
