GBA SP AGS-101 not able to charge

So i have 5 of these now that don't charge. The charge light turns on for about 2 seconds when plugged in. I have tried other chargers, batteries and screens. It is defintely the boards. I have replaced the f1 fuses as well- and no change.

This can't be a problem isolated to just me, but there is no info on the internet at all about how to fix this. Anyone have ideas or know something?

 

These would be the backlit models, correct? Strange, I have one myself and haven't had a problem.

If the problem is only that they don't charge: Will they still power up? Have you tried replacing the batteries? If they power up, do they work as normal?
If they power up, but nothing on screen, is there sound? Have you checked the ribbon cable at the hinge? (on nintendo ds, if there is damage to the ribbon cable, or screen is missing at all, the nintendo will not power up)

 

Give this a shot, power on the unit with the charge cable in. After that place the battery in. Does it start charging then? I've done this with a few rechargeable devices and it happens to work.

Hope you figure what's causing it though!

 

Are you trying with old, but healthy, nintendo batteries or with new aftermarket ones?
