[SOLVED] Hello, guys I'm new here! I changed the housing of my gba sp it was working normally during the process rubbed a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol, and since then I have problems when playing, the A and B button must be pressed with enough force to register the command I have already put a new rubber pad and did not work! Could isopropyl alcohol damage the contacts?
As I recall the tact buttons used are raised metal circles which when depressed make contact with the metal below to complete the circuit. It is possible you might have a little of the liquid inside the buttons, causing the contacts not to close (ie acting as an insulator). Not saying it is, but might be possible. If there is a gap in the buttons, might be worth inserting a pin to elevate the button a little to allow a little airflow, so the alcohol can evaporate?
^ Thats can be true! i've noticed a oxidation below the contact membrane, now,i must figure out a way to access there... EDIT: Now i firgure out how get rid of this problem all I had to do was remove the metal circle, and use isopropyl alcohol to clean the contact below it! above that circle, there is an adhesive, you only need to take a little of it, so leave a part of the exposed metal, and using a screwdriver detach it from the board Thank Bacteria! I hope it is useful to all forum!
