Now, after xmas, I have a gamecube. Is there a lot of support for the link cable with the gba? I know that there is for metroid. Anything really worth it though for the $15 cable?
Simple answer no. And you can get 3rd party ones on ebay for about $4 shipped, so if you really do want one, buy a shit one!
Final Fantasy crystal chronicles also uses it I think and maybe Pokemon Stadium. I got mine to get the knuckles pictograph on windwaker though
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was made for it! As was Zelda 4 Swords Adventure. It's worth it--not too expensive, at $15. You won't feel cheated, since there are a few (pretty damn fun) games that support it well.
Theres loads of games that use it but only final fantasy crystal chronicles needs it. Heres a list of games that use the cable, the list is of japanese games as those are the ones i own. Final fantasy crystal chronicles Legend of zelda 4 swords + Legend of zelda windwaker Phantasy star online Episode 1 & 2 Phantasy star online Episode 1 & 2 plus Billy hatcher & the giant egg Atsumare made in wario Mario golf family tour Rockman X command mission Pikmin 2 Nintendo puzzle collection Pokemon collosseum Pokemon box ruby sapphire Pokemon channel Metroid prime Mr driller drill land Sonic adventure DX Sonic adventure 2 battle Doubutsu no mori + Doubutsu no mori E+ Theres probably more but i cant think what they are of the top of my head.
Pretty useful in animal crossing, particularly if you have the e-reader. on a sidenote, Are the e-reader features still in the pal europe release?
if you have the game cube and gba already , then go for it, if you want to buy a gba because of your game cube, then it doesn't worth what you want to spend.
so you need a)cable b)gc disc c)related gba cart to pull stuff off with games? i though in either zero mission or fussion all you had to do was plug in the cable maybe to get some art galleries? im heading to the mall soon so i'll probably pick up metroid prime, its freakin 9.99 used!!
Nah, just the cable, GC game and GBA. You only need a GBA cart if the game requires it, like Metroid Prime/Fusion. Plugging those two games into each other (completed), unlocks the Fusion suit and Famicom Metriod. But games like Zelda, you don't need any GBA game, it just sends Tinkle down the cable into the GBA.... Is it possible to do this remotely? Using a Wavebird receiver and one of those wireless link jobbies for the GBA that came with the new Pokemon game? Seems daft having a Wavebird, but still being tied to a cable between the GBA/GC.....
I was wondering if it would work with 2 'cubes, a gamboy player and a gc -> gba link cable. 1 set up with the gc game ie: windwaker with the gc -> gba link plugged into the gameboy player on the other cube. anyone tried this?
I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Infact I remember seeing a picture where somebody had connected 4 Gameboy Player GC combos to 4 separate GameCubes to play Crystal Chronicles w/ 8 TVs. That was great.
the four swords comes with the cable for $50, i seen it today and almosted picked it up. anyone played it? any good? says its only 1 player on the box, do the other players have to play on gba's?
for 2 player and up, every player must have a gba (i think) , the interior are on the gba , will the exterior is on the tv.
I throughly enjoyed going through Four Swords with a couple of friends, worth the $50 price of admission for me. Also, another game that uses the GBA Link is Splinter Cell (Pandora Tomrrow supports it as well), it adds a little radar to the game while you play. Fairly neat if you're using an SP in the dark.
