I got a boxed GBC multicart today labeled "GameUSA Advance Color 82-in-1" (gotta love those names) that for some reason looks *exactly* like a classic GB cartridge, but anyways, I sold my GBC last week so I had only my GBA to try it on, and when I try to play it the logo shows up (screen has bars on the side like with GB games), suddenly the GBA resets and the logo shows up again... and then the thing freezes :smt017 Is this some known issue with pirate multicarts for GBC playing on a GBA? I'd hate to take the thing back to the store...
You may have to open up the cart and align the chip with the plastic case. I had a few of these and had to open a few up and even switch them around to make the contacts line up the right way. Also it may be both the cart and your gameboy. I have one cart that only works on one of my GBAs. The same cart will not work on my other or the GBASP. So just fiddle with it or try another GBA it may or may not work.
I have 2 of those carts 37-in1 and 40-in1 but both work just fine with my GBA SP. Maybe you should try the above mentioned things and see if it helps.
Thanks for your info, I'll check with a friends GBC & SP to see if the cart works... its a bit hard to open as it uses one of those special nintendo screws :Hangman:
You could try the old pen trick, just take a plastic ballpoint pen and heat it until it melts into the srew, you should then be able to open the cart.
*looks at spot on finger that is devoid of all fingerprints due to second-degree plastic burns* Yeah... pen trick works nice, just watch how melty it gets.
You really are a fire hazzard arne't you GSL , first the fried bug and now burning of your fingerprints :smt023
Actually, the burning predates the bug incident by a few weeks, and is actually what inspired me to buy a gamebit. I have had a few other bad experiences with flaming things, so maybe I am a fire hazard.... It was pretty sad this morning as I went to the kitchen to open the window and get some fresh air and was startled by another one of those crane flies (whom I am now convinced have some sort of Fire magic, as it's the only explanation for the evening) and let out a yip. My Japanese roommate, who thought my story of the other night was pretty damn funny when I told her, walked into the kitchen, laughed, caught the thing in a cup, and put it outside. Those Japanese are fearless, I tell you, especially in the face of grave danger.
Buy the screwdriver bit from www.mcmelectronics.com - especially recommended in US (postage overseas was prohibitively expensive from them for a little bit.... maybe get someone in the US to get it for you)
