Hi! I'd like to get 60hz out of my Gamecube, but I am not sure which way to take. i got a PAL GC and a PAL game. I want that game to run in NTSC. ray: Shall I get another copy of the game in NTSC-J, and get an japanese Gamecube, or is there an easier, cheaper route? Maybe you can give me ideas / options on how to accomplish my task. ninn :-0
I'm pretty sure that some PAL games support 60HZ. If you look at the back of the box, there MIGHT be an icon in the top corner that says "60Hz". If you hold "B" while booting the game, it should ask if you want to display in 60Hz mode. (I use the component cables. I do not know if this works with the standard cables.) Games I know have this feature are Zelda: WW and Super Mario Sunshine. 2) You could buy a free loader and import your games. 3) Install a modchip and force NTSC video for all games.
Most PAL cube games support 60hz, you don't need a component cable for it to work but they're well worth picking up if your cube still has the socket for it.
no ... IKARUGA does not support that 60hz trick, and the console does not display 60hz on its back too. europe sucks.
I think he meant 60Hz on the back of the game boxes to tell you what game supports it and what doesn't. You have two options for Ikaruga. Import an NTSC copy and use Freeloader or buy a Dreamcast. I would go for the Dreamcast option. The PAL version of Ikaruga for the GC is the worst version, full of bugs. Lastly, those games that do support 60Hz will do so over any cable, even RF.
