http://kotaku.com/5030824/the-gba-and-gamecubestillfunction I wonder if the uprise in Wii sales has given the audience a favourable idea about nintendo's previous console, the GC? I m still very much in love with that my GC but ever since the Wii came in, there's just no room for my little black/red/green gamecubes/gdevs =)
Who the hell is buying those systems? You can play game cube n the Wii and GBA on the DS. I bet they are old stock being sold in developing countries. Yakumo
Well, the advantage to having a Gamecube is that it's the only way to play GBA games on a TV - well, besides using one of those Intelligent Systems dealies.
Well i still use my gamecube as i still play PSO & homeland & i need the BBA to get online Apart from that everything else can be done on the wii or ds.
Yup, that's right. In South America you can see GCs and GBAs still being sold. Wii and PS3 are just officially appearing here, and well Microsoft never commercially supported the XBOX franchise much around here. Though the article said something like 40k GC units being sold in the US, would that count in the 29 bux barely-working-raped systems sold at Gamestop/EB games ?
GCNs & GBAs are still selling a bit in the USA because they are dirt cheap and parents will incorrectly buy them. Alot of stores are trying to get rid of any left over stock of either system so sometimes you can find them new for $50-$75. Has nada to do with the wii.
Visual Boy Advance + RGB Monitor = great. Of course it doesn't fill the whole screen due to the funky resolution, but it doesn't stretch either. Double the screen and throw on some fake scanlines for the win.
You can still get a new in box gamecube for about $50 in most stores. I would say most purchases are by cheap , inept gift buyers.
maybe we should stock on a few for selling them at an absurd price to boxed-console collectors to be?
My thoughts exactly! :110: I was actually planning on purchasing one of the last Silver Gamecubes they had at Walmart... but I just couldnt do it.
Para los de suramérica: ¿qué tal está el paronama de las consolas de TecToy licenciadas para paises hispanohablantes? ¿Las siguen vendiendo, rollo la MD etc? In English: For southamericans: How is the TecToy licensed systems for latin countries going? There're still MD's and such?
I was tempted to do that when n64 units where going for $50 or less brand new. Now thoes units are going for more on ebay new.
It's reggie buying everything to boost sales numbers. That explains why you can't find a wii anywhere either......reggie is buying them.
Well in my case, here in Uruguay, you don't get to see much TecToy stuff around. Usually chinese MD clones. Though in some stores you can still get boxed Sega Genesis for a fair price, though I haven't checked if it's Tectoy or not.
