    Hey all,

I was wondering if someone could help me with something. A few months ago, I grabbed one of ASSEMbler's Xeno GC's, which worked well. I can play normal games fine, but when I try and play certain burned games, they work for a while, then start hitching up (eventually just stopping altogether). I don't think it's the GC's fault (since normal games are ok), but I was wondering if I messed up the burn somehow?

I used IMGburn, at a slow speed (2X) on two different type of mini-disk brands. Both came out weird looking. I expected the entire disk to be burned, but it looked like only 1/6th of it actually burned to the disk. So, like, I have a copy of Smash Bros Melee. It boots up fine, but certain things (getting Luigi to appear, some fights, or events, etc.) cause it to error out. Just wondering if a GC iso is supposed to not burn entirely to the disk, or if I did something wrong?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Possibly need the pot tweaking. The GC wont read copied media very well until the pot is tuned.

Hmm...that sounds a little out of my knowledge (not even knowing what it is).

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

    Normal game:

And here's a disk I burned (that does boot, but gives me problems):

I presume it's the inner ring (the darker part) that is the burned ISO. Does that look right at all, or did something mess up?

Yes that's the burned ISO, but you need to do that Bad_Ad84 says, it's like a calibration of the lens in order to give em the capability to read burned games (I do not know if i'm completely right about this).

You need to tweak the pot as said above.

I will give you another advice, when you find a combo of DVD-media and DVD-writer that works on your GC stick to it.

Even though I got the same media and same settings in IMGBurn, the DVD will only work if burned with one of my DVD burners (a Pioneer).

I think even though you use mini-DVD it should not burn 100%, thats why underside looks the way it does (someone confirm this maybe, I am running full size DVD on my GC).

What size is the ISO before you burn it? It should be around 1.35GB. I've had a quick look at some mini disc burns, they look to take up most of the disc.

I now use full size Sumvision Ritek DVDs, they seem to work best for me.

Yeah, it's 1.35, or around there. I ripped my copy of Melee myself, burned it, and got the errors. I then downloaded a copy, that was the same size, tried that, and it still didn't work right.

Considering the idea of trying to pot the laser myself, but I'm no good with anything like that. I might be screwed, lol
