I have installed a genuine genogc V2.0 in my GameCube. The install seems to be correct (red light turns into orange light) but I can't seem to run backed up games. I've tried every pot setting going form 350 (that's the least I can set it to, the drive won't spin if it's higher) up until 90. I start getting "somethings wrong" errors when I reach 150. The factory setting was 260. I'm using Maxell mini-dvd's burned at the lowest speed using imgburn. The iso's are the correct size and imgburn verifies them as correct. Anyone know what could be the problem?
Try using different disks even big disks with the top part of the case off just to verify the chip is working correctly
If you have another PC/burner available, try using that instead. Some burners give better results than others.
I'm in the same boat as you are, except it worked for about two months. I wonder if the Xeno GC works better with full sized DVDs as opposed to less common mini-DVDs.
I had it working with some sony mini dvd's at 90 but they would stop working after a minute or two. My xenogc is correctly installed because I can access the xenogc shell when using an original game. I tried another burner (my laptop) and a full size dvd but I can't get it to work. Is it possible that the optimal setting is higher than the factory setting (260)?
