I see those "Promotional Copies" from time to time in the Thrift Stores. Do you think they are worth getting, how much are around from them? Do you have some information on this topic?
They are just a thing for collecting though they won´t gain much worth. Basically they are just Retail discs without artwork on them (there are exceptions BTW) and mostly without instructions. They are sent to stores/reviewers to promote the product.
Those are Promos / Promotional Copies. As you see the discs are plain black and white (with a few exeptions) and most of them are actually lacking a manual (I do actually have a lot with manual).
Nice stuff. I have loads of promotional copies of games, but I don't reckon they're worth any more than retail editions. As an aside, game publishers are really starting to clamp down on people selling promotional copies of games on eBay - I know a few people who've received a scary legal letter from EA, telling them to stop selling promos of their games or face the consequences!
