Hello! I am new to this but I want to burn an eprom to use with with the cartridge NHL 96. I don't have an eprom burner but I will get one soon. The game I will put on the eprom is http://info.sonicretro.org/SoniNeko an I do have the original Sonic 1. Here is a picture of NHL 96. [IMG]I just want to know what eprom to use and if there is any rewiring to be done. Thanks!

Depends on the type of eprom you use.

I don't know how much eprom burners cost but they're expensive aren't they? You'd probably be better off buying an everdrive flash cart.

Plus that hack isn't exactly the most interesting thing to be burning =p

While I also recommend getting a Flash Cart, particularly if you plan to mess around with several games, what you want to do is pretty simple. NHL96 has a 16 meg MaskROM which can be replaced with a 27c160 eprom. However when you program this EPROM you should pad the file up to that 2 megabytes file size. You may be able to get away without doing this I don't know. Something else to note is hacks like these sometimes have problems that cause them to crash or fail on real hardware as they are generally developed and tested on emulators.

If you live in North America (hell, anywhere would be fine, but not as cheap), you should contact Steph at HobbyRoms.com who can burn you the correct ROM chip for a pretty reasonable price.
    He's a really awesome guy.

That game will have lot of audio glitches on real HW, so I'd avoid EPROMming it
