    Hi Everyone,
I just received my Everdrive (complete with 2GB SD and cart body and case and label) and am trying to get it to display a menu. I am using a reissue BLAZE Megadrive and I can't work out what is wrong.

The Flashcart does not display a menu upon bootup of the megadrive clone. The built-in 15 games that come with the BLAZE console work fine. I have two of these consoles and both do not load anything when the Flashcart is inserted.

I have not formatted the 2 GB SD card but know that you can format it using the built in OS, so I don't think this could be the issue.

I am new to all this so please understand my knowledge is limited at this point.

I am thinking that the Flashcart is DOA???

Anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting? Am I doing something wrong?

    Please help :crying:

sorry, but BLAZE clones it is most crappy clone. even some original games not work on this system.
everdrive not supported with blaze clones because:
    1) some wires not connected to blaze cart port
    2) seems like blaze it is not real hardware, i guess that blaze is some kind of emulator

will be good if you can buy retron3 or used original system (original will be better)

    Hi KRIKzz,

Thanks for your reply. I finally manged to get the menu up on screen (seems that the cart slot does not always recognize cart has been inserted on the BLAZE).

Every time I went to load a game it hung on init MMC......
The SD card was formatted with a Windows PC using FAT16. I wonder if the SD card needs another format or if it just doesn't work with the BLAZE??

I have just purchased a Mega Drive II off ebay to see if the cart tests good on there (I suspect the cart will test fine), as you said the BLAZE is a cheap and nasty clone.

blaze not have !time signal on cart slot, by this reason cart OS can't take acces to SD card, so you will se "init mmc" message permanently

Got my Everdrive today and I'm also getting the "init mmc..." error. Tried several SD cards, preformatting them on PC but i still can't get the everdrive to recognize them.
Seems like it can't find the SD cards at all. :(

MD 2, Pal. Tried genny3 on/off with hard resets in between and the others as well.

What am I doing wrong? :(

Edit: Now i found something that changes when a card is in.
When i do a spi speed test without a memory card i get the following:
    "timer calibration...
    50hz
    init mmc...
    ERROR: 1"

    With a card in:
    "timer calibration...
    50hz
    init mmc...
ERROR: 2" (it takes a while before the error shows)

    Thanks,
    Widar,
    Sweden

probably you use sdhc carts and old OS which not support SDHC

    Yes - that did it!
I was on os23 and tried to use SDHC like you thought, it works with an SD!

Thanks a lot for the quick response, that's customer focus! :)
