I have been researching on modding my Genesis / MegaDrive 1 to get stereo output from it. In theory it should be possible since the front port outputs stereo, though it previously passes it through an amplifier. There is the opinion that taking the input to the amplifier gives enough stereo line output an there are other who claim that the line output is too low, that the ideal would be to take those lines and use an amp IC to get a good line out to connect to a scart or RCA. I want to know opinions here, there is anyone who has modded the Gen in such a way? Also, I have a Genesis 2 which already outputs stereo but lots of people says that the output circuit is terrible and mod it... does it pay off? Thanks!
