Does anyone know how to do a country mod for a model 1 genesis? The pcb on the genesis says "PC BD M5 USA VA7"

    Thanks anyway

I've tried there, but they don't have a mod for my board. Thanks anyway.

All MD and Genesis motherboards are the same, just look for jumpers 1-4 (wherever they may be) and move 'em around. Presto, you're done.

    Well found a simple guide

I found a simple guide for this, all i have to do is mess with jumpers 1 and 2 for country correct? Cause according to another way to do it in this guide i got from gamefaqs, you can have seprate switches for each jumper.

    Err, that's the same thing!

If you can't comprehend that, I wouldn't recommend you to continue with this mod... get an experienced engineer to do it!

    just tried it

Just tried to do the mod miself, at first i could toggle use mode on and off, but i guess i put solder in the wrong jumper, since now it just stays in us mode. I even cut the board through fully on one of the jumpers, and the other close to that, and it still stays in us mode. Any one know what i did wrong?

You broke the Genesis??? Right now, cut through all the way through the traces on JP1-4, desolder your wires and whatever other stuff you added. Solder a jumper between both pads of JP2 and JP4. If you didn't break (I don't know how you would) your system, it should be functioning as normal (English/60hz.)

    thanks

Thanks Kyuusaku, although i alread bought a new genesis, i still might fix the old one, since this new one i bought is set up exactly like the guide. Although when opening it to clean it, the damn shield was hard as hell to get off.
