So I hit upon an excellent day at the local thrift store, walking away with a NES, Intellivision 2, a Donkey Kong cart for Colecovision, an unfamiliar-looking Frogger cart, and a bag of NES gear including the less common grey Zapper, a normal controller with neon buttons (someone's interesting hack job, I guess) and to my surprise, a Genesis mouse. They seem to be fairly common on eBay, but I've honestly never seen one before. What are they used for - were there specific games, or do they actually function as an odd controller replacement?
I think Power Monger has support for it too. I just recently picked one up as well. Mind you, I mostly wanted it for the Sega branded mouse pad, but still.
The grey zapper is uncommon? Man, I saw loads of them in a Lansing thrift store, in the "cheap unboxed accessoires" bin :smt009 And about that neon button controller, I remember someone posting an ebay link to it, apparently nintendo released something that allowed you to color your controller :smt017
I'll post a pic of the NES controller later, but now that you mention it, I do remember seeing an eBay auction sometime for a controller with similarly colored buttons - I think either you or Paulo showed me. It's really odd, as the buttons fit perfectly, and seem to be the same size and shape as the normal ones, but I can't say I ever remember Nintendo offering anything with the buttons. Anyone have any info on this?
NES pad with neon buttons I vaguely remember that a third party made controller maintainence kits for NESes that had replacements for all the buttons and the rubber things (is there a proper name for those?) behind them. I can't for the life of me remember who made it or what it was called. A friend of mine had one. I'd bet 99% of these were bought because some kid carved out the start and/or select buttons But anyway, being the late 80s/early 90s that it was, the replacement B and A buttons were neon.
Yeah my mom gave me a couple of those kits in my stocking one christmas...never even got around to using them... If I remember correctly mine came from Renovation and with a neoprene gaming glove. :smt043
wackyworlds use it. its was bundled with the mouse , its a mario paint like , you can paint, play music , ect.... its a must for every sega genesis collector. :smt023
yes lemming too. this mouse isn't know like the super nintendo mouse, but is compatible with a lot more games. ( i think only 4 snes games support the mouse ) strange.
