Genesis pro action replay mk2

I just purchased a pro action replay mk2 for cheap and cleaned it up. It let's me input codes and use trainer but when I try to access the preprogrammed codes menu by pressing the 'B' button it just flashes up "after burner" and disappears back to code input screen. Anyone encounter this or know what might fix it? It happens even when switch is up middle or down.
