Thanks for the link. By the way, who from here confirmed going? I remember GreatSaintLouis. Who else?
If anybody manages to get gba or gamecube stuff or sonic stuff (as if :smt019 ) plz contact me :smt040
GreatSaintLouis is going?? How? I know a few game developer friends who are going. The thing is, you either have to be a member of the Press or a developer to be in the conference, security is tight as hell and they do check your info incase you lied that you were press. On top of that, you should've recieved a card by now, which is your ticket to get in E3.
here I come. I'm also going for 100% :smt033, can't wait.... it's going to be sooo sweet. (and going on goodies haunthing)
Yep, I am going, or at least, I'm able to go. They don't state on their website, but E3 will sometimes take college kids who are looking to go into the computer/video gaming field and have majors that reflect that (obviously, if you're a computer programming, electronic music composition, digital art major, etc. they'd look at that a bit more seriously than say a biology major). It takes a few phone calls, some emailing, and faxing some stuff (transcript info, current student body id, and a letter from my advisor informing that I'm a currently enrolled digital arts major) but it wasn't really that hard. All this will get you is entrance to the three days of the Expo, not the workshops or seminars or anything, but that's more than enough for me. That said, I might not be going. I don't have a job right now, and the thing is going to cost pretty close to $400-$450 for rooming and a bus ticket down there, and on top of that, I really have no damn clue how the hell the city bus system works (LA's city webpages are shit) as I'd MUCH rather rely on that than paying for a taxi and stuff. And with my hotel being about 2 miles from the place where the expo is being held, I'd much rather worry about taking a bus than walking or something, especially since my bus would get there at 12:30 at night. So I just really don't know. I've got my confirmation e-mail from E3, I have a hotel reserved, I'm just not sure if this is something I really should do.... :smt022
e304 yepp, my swagbag and I will be there! I will try and get doubles of all the stuff i swipe, one to keep, one to sell... im traveling all the way from England, so its gonna cost me a fair bit, but selling stuff like this should help towards the flight fund: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=187&item=8101734900
Get extra PS/PS2 Stuff for me! :smt023 Specially if it's related to Gran Turismo 4 and MGS3: Snake Eater Anyway, i'm more interested in catalogs, demo discs and stuff like that. :drinkers:
GreatSaintlouis. I recommend you visit this website if you are interested in making videogames. www.igda.org I'm a student member (which costs $35). Once you're a member you can enter in this scholarship contest were the 25 winners go to the GDC conference. The essay you have to write is 500words and looks easy but you have to be truthful, honest and write college. Other than that, you get a free subscription to Famitsue :smt040 . Heh, just kidding, its actually Game Developer Magazine. On top of that you get discounts on books that deal with programming, etc. You should check it out :smt023
I will be there. I got in as a student as well. I will be squeezing 5 people into a 2 person hotel room. It's gonna suck.
I'll buy your pass GSL!!! Just let me know cause I'd hang my mom for a ticket!! :Hangman: or shoot her :snipe:
Heh, I'd give it to you Kstyle, but I didn't pay a thing for it in the first place (I am just going to the Expo part, tho) and you would need my student id as well, lol. Now if you wanted to buy that we can talk, but unless you look like me, it might not work too well. :smt043 And thanks for the link to the IGDA madhatter, I had heard about it before. I had a friend who went to the GDC this spring, and she said it was pretty awesome. It's usually only $50 for students apparently. But if the $35 for joining the IGDA nets me a Game Developer subscription, I might have to look into that (always wanted to subscribe to that, but at $50 a pop, no way...)
I'm going !! Me and 3 friends are going, looking forward to seeing PSP hopefully. I'll be taking my laptop, digital camera and video camera, I'll be sure to post some here!
Re: I'm going !! Cool Sonikku. Make a small website (Geocities perhaps?) with info about the E3 while you are there and an album of the pics (again use something like Yahoo photos)
