Thinking of getting an arcade cab, but I am haunted by nightmares of lugging this thing up 5 flights of stairs in an apartment complex. Can anyone confirm that these are *exactly* 75cm wide? The doorway to my apartment is 76 wide and I'm scared to buy one if it won't go through the door. :banghead:

I'm thinking of ordering one from here, as I live in Australia -

^ They offer an upgrade to a 38k monitor, would it be worth it? (In AU dollars) ie; would the monitor allow me to hook up an Atomiswave or Naomi board?

You should move this into the arcade section.

If for any reason you cannot fit the cabinet through your door, then don't worry as the cabinets come apart.

This guy "appears" to be offering the Sega Astro City manual to download:
    http://www.filestube.com/t/trilogy+manual

Here is a flyer with dimensions: http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=3013&image=2

    Stated at 750 wide.

Not sure about 38Khz monitors... did he mean 31Khz by any chance? It all depends on what you are wanting to run through the cabinet. Are you going to obtain specific Jamma game boards or were you thinking of MAME?

I don't know how readily available the parts are in Australia, but you can always change over the monitor chassis for a tri sync (15/24/31) once you've purchased the unit.

If you remove the monitor before struggling up 5 flights of stairs, then you'll find that the actual cabinet isn't too heavy. You and a mate should be able to struggle up in 2 journeys. Don't attempt it with the monitor in, you'll give yourselves double hernia and more than likely cause damage to the unit.

Have a look here the construction of the NAC and AC are fairly similar: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24559

Hmmm... I've never meddled with CRT monitor parts before, is it just a few cables that can be easily connected, or is there a lot of wiring?

Very straight forward. It'll be the best way to avoid any damage to your back and/or the cabinet, unless you have a couple of pretty big mates.
