Getting back into XBOX Modding and have a question about SNEs emulators...

So I picked up a "new to me" xbox that was already soft modded, and I have my old hard modded xbox.

I spent some time last night re learning the ropes, how to FTP ect ect.

I am running into a strange problem....and it happens on BOTH xboxes..

I installed 2 different SNES emulators, and they both boot up fine, however, once they are loaded I can not navigate the menus with the controller...on both snes emulators??

Symptoms are like a broken controler, but the controller works, lol. The program themselves seem to run fine, also other emulators work just fine (non snes)

Can anyone point me in the correct direction please?

 

What SNES emu are you using?

 

SNES9x-X 0.23 English (worked for YEARS)
and the 2nd SNES emulator I installed to troubleshoot is ZsnexBox

It is like neither program detects the controller ????

 

the only thing left to try is a different controller

 

yes, I have tried with 2 separate controlers.

 

then try a current version of the emulator (SNES9XBox v6 / ZsnexBox v3.7)

 

I will be glad to try. Can you point me to the correct download site fror the programs?

Please pardon my ignorance....I have been out of the XBOX modding scene since approx 2006.

 

Are you using a 3rd party controller? Many linux-based apps can only use first party.

 

Both controllers used are genuine Real deal microsoft xbox.

 

Time to be humble...

So.... the way I have both xboxes sitting in my shelf is back out so I can swap cables quickley, controler ports to the back. So I am reaching ovet the top to plug conrtoler in blind... turns out I was plugging in to player 2 (FACEPALM)

Lol, at least you had your controller plugged in somewhere. Some times I go to do something and nothing happens, then I look at the XBOX and find no controllers plugged in
