    I lost a 360 but today I gained a Dreamcast.

but I need to know what I need to redownload all the saves I lost when my old Dreamcast zapped my Memory card no problem with Capcom saves since I have the CVS disc.

I need to download these save s because well.......would you want to play through 40 games SOME OF THEM NOT ENGLISH again?

Get the browser disc, go online and download via PlanetWeb.

I'm not sure if they will have all of the saves you're looking for, but, you might want to give http://www.booyaka.com a try. You just need to sign up for an account, which is free. Then click on "Sega(r) Dreamcast(tm) VMU Development" on the left hand side once you log in. Then under "Tools" you will find "Dreamcast saved games". I would recommend scouring their site for a bit as they do also have a forum. I'm not sure how often its frequented though. Hope this helps.

    Peace.

Well, you could use a connection to the PC. I'm not sure what kind of adapters there are for the VMU to PC kind. But I do know its entirely possible to use one of the Dreamcast web browsers to download the saves directly to a memory card. Not sure which browsers do so. I think Planet Web 3.0 does, which you can probably get for free nowadays. Previous versions might support it, too. Also, Dream Key is a possibility, along with XDP (a modified homebrew compilation of a variety of different browsers each with unique compatability ie. WebTV like features, IE options and other customizability).

I hope that helps. Just wish I could point you in a more precise direction.

    Peace.

Free dial up ISP, download from the DC browser to the VMU, or follow one of the 56k>PC server guides floating around. I haven't tried that though.

There is also a tool called VMU Tool, that contains allot of saves AND you can add them on the iso... or something like that.

    Ohhh, yeah I see. VoiP?

I guess the PC-DC server is the only option then.

Sigh....all too complicated. Head over to dcemu.co.uk and browse utilities in their download section. As mentioned by Wombat you can download a bootable image which when loaded allows you to transfer saves from the cd to the VMU. You can add your own saves or use the set which come with the disk.

It's very simple, clean and effective.

I would provide links but their site is down for maintenance until tommorow.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with the 8M unit. I have a 4M unit and never had any problems. I think the memory bank switch is problematic. You shouldn't push it during bootup or during access of the dreamcast.

btw, didn't you make any backups?
