hi, now that i have some free time (vacations, summer and all that stuff), i will try to fix a borrowed n64. So i ask you if anybody knows a "ghetto" way to open it, i've tried the pen hack, but it's just too weak to turn the screw.

    thanks in advance, merry christmas!

Modify a flat head with a grinder. Make and indent in the middle of the flat head so that it can fit on to the grooves of the screw.

Get small pliers and jam it in there, I know that doesn't seem ghetto enough but I used to live in the ghetto if that counts.

If you're trying to fix a console, you open it the nice way without damaging it.

You need to use a Bic pen, not just any pen. Melt the tip of the pen and press it into the gamebit screw and let it cool. You'll be able to turn the screw then they're not every tight any how. Flat head screw driver also works, sometimes Torx.

the bic pen trick doesn't work, maybe the screws are too tight...i will try modding a screwdriver.

    Thanks to everyone!
