Ghibli Game....UK and Japan Only?

I'm a huge Ghibli fan and the fact we may not be getting this, angers me a little there shouldn't be any issues releasing this game here....

Should there?

 

It's going to be an odd one to release as Ninokuni has that huge book that you need to use to work out how to use all the magic in the game & it has info aout the other world so not only would they have to translate the game into english they also have to recreate the book, might be just too much work to risk it not selling that well in the west.

Well it's obviously getting released in the UK. So why not here? Even if in Limited numbers.

I'm assuming Miyazaki didn't have anything to do with this......you know on account of the main character being a Male

 

I wouldnt take wikipedia as fact, a totally japanese developed game that has no release date for japan but has a uk release date for november, hmm i don't think so.

Actually, it wouldn't really surprise me if this game came to the UK, as Studio Ghibli has quite a following AFAIK.

 

Yep i wonder if the games gonna be any good. It should be fun if its half as good as some of the films.

 

Disney doesn't have the rights to ALL Ghibli Movies, They don't have the rights to Grave of the Fireflies for one.

 

Thats likely because they dint want the rights to the saddest film ever.

Not to be taken the wrong way but i'm a little sad it's a ds game. I would love to see the game at a better resolution. =(

Not to mention there is no telling how compressed the video/audio will turn out to fit on a ds cart (sure it has up to 256MB of space but there still will be compression to fit it all in).

Disney has no rights to the game fyi. Ghibli is being contracted by level 5 to help do the game (in a colaberation). It's not a game by Ghibli.

 

If you had watched the trailer you would have seen it's coming to both the ds & another platform, they haven't revealed the other platform it's coming on but im guessing maybe the wii.

Th ds can do pretty good video nowdays if you watch the anime intro to phantasy star zero you can see it looks really nice indeed. All depends on the developer really, but level 5 tend to make really high quality games i remember watching the animated intro on professor layton & been suprised by the quality of it.

 

I'm guessing the Wii too since the Wii is just a consolized DS anyway.
