Ghoul Patrol was the (semi-official) sequel to Zombies Ate My Neighbors, one of my all time favorite games, and even though it was of inferior quality compared to ZAMN it was still rather enjoyable when you had a friend to join you in coop mode.

Anyways, ZAMN was originally developed for the SNES, and later ported to the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and the same was planned for Ghoul Patrol, but in the end, only the SNES version was released.

The Genesis port (which was to be published by Virgin Interactive) was canceled.

I also read in an interview with Mike Ebert, the creator of the original ZAMN that Ghoul Patrol was originally going to be a different game with no relation to ZAMN which was turned into a sequel to the game last minute to boost sales.

I've tried searching the Internet for developer interviews, game previews and things like that, but I couldn't find anything regarding Ghoul Patrol's development or the unreleased Genesis version.

Now if anybody happens to have some information on either the lost Genesis version of the game, or the SNES prototype game, before it became a ZAMN sequel I'd love to hear it!
