The soccer badge is tacked on because a large portion of these SUV Driving mothers have children (most little girls) who plays soccer, thus they often cart around their children in these SUV's to and from their soccer games/practices and so on.
Right on. The soccer is kinda in reference to "suburban" moms, who send little Timmy/Tammy to play soccer, while driving their A. volvo or B. SUV. As of late, it has been more on the SUV side. :smt043 Said soccer moms are usually outraged when such things as the recent T.O incident occur. :smt043
They're also not willing to take responsibility for their own children's actions (hence the move to ban whatever is popular at the time).

A bit of a stereotype, but in a good deal of cases horrifyinly true and accurate.
If you had this consumer demographic constantly rallying for bans on various games, harsher ratings systems, or blaming games for the horrifying behaviour of their mutant offspring, you would too. ;-)
Soccer Moms just moved from station wagons (70's) to mini vans (80's - 90's) now on to a multitude of SUVs and SUV wannabes. They really should just control their child production and all the gas hogs could be left to the men. :-D
