Maybe if they were to able to sell it cheaper than DS and PSP...

...but I don't see that happening. They're fucked.

My guess is that they will need to take the price down drastically because the Dollar isn't worth the paper it's made from.

Some of the games do have very funny names.

You know, like "sticky balls" or "it's mister pants!"

The second one sounds like a garage punk band's name.

Oh well soon enough it wont even be worth its name. :p

Its Mister Pants is actualy based off an odd character who lived on the rare website. It eventualy was used in taking over the donky kong puzzle game for gba which was renamed to "It's mister pants." More then likly the gizmondo is just getting a port of the gba game.

Is it just me or do all the games by Gizmondo Studios sound uninspiring?

Most games are just pc ports from the pentium 166 mhz eara so noting tooo interresting unless they sell the machine for < $100 in which case i migth give it a go.

Yeah, anyone actually tried playing Carmageddon recently? It's chronic! Even in 1996 the only thing it was good for was LAN games...

The PC games of that era were fun though - if this is gonna be something like a handheld retro-PC (which it probably won't be) it might be interesting, imho.

Gismondo (wtf kind of name is that?) is what now? Is it going to be born into obscurity like that Tapwave Zodiac? Anyone wanna post pics? So far it's the shittiest sounding handheld I've heard of, unless it's open to public development.

    w00t, i like the dollar cheap ;)

But if the price drops this will be the perfect homebrew/emulation console i think.. Because i dont know how much you can do with it besides playing games :happyhap:

Yay! Another soon-to-be obscure system for me to own!

    *10 year later*

Random Guy: What the heck is that?
    Me: It is the Gizmondo!
Random Guy: I've never heard of that, what is it?
Me: More like, 'What was it.' Just another portable gaming system that never got off because of its $400 dollar launch price and the maker being Tiger. You want to try it?
    Random Guy: Ummm....No thanks.
Me: Ha! Ok. More fun for me ; D

Isn't this Tiger that makes the Gizmondo a different company from the Tiger that made the Game.com and R-Zone? Or did they just change thier name?

I think it's a subsidiary, but it IS related in some way to the Tiger Electronics who developed the game.com and all those little LCD games in the 1980's.
