Edit down to what I should be saying anyway: Sell the M2. Really. You'll have more fun spending the money on going to spending it on meals, movies, and games that you can actually play with friends.
By all we know he might possess his M2 only imaginative. At least I didnt see any pictures yet. Kinda starts to smell.
too much (for what it has to offer) hard to tell with so few circulating and getting sold, last one i saw sold for $2000.
if that would be the idea, it would be useless. look at me, i have no dev hardware, no protos, no unreleased, no really rare games, i've never worked in videogame field and i'm not even a programmer... the rarest thing i have is a Sega Saturn 3rd party boot disc... anyone can bring something good to the community, so no "proof" or need to have something rare to be here. if it would be so, i wouldn't be allowed here and i wouldn't be a moderator too, right? karsten
Exactly, you don't need to have some unreleased rare console to look "cool" on the internet. I think many people here, including myself, are perfectly happy with normal games.
Woah Woah Woah! I think you all should just leave him alone. It was his money to spend as he wished and he decided to purchase an ultra rare system with part of it. Who are any of you to question his judgement and treat him like a fool for doing so? Maybe someday he'll regret the M2 or maybe he realizes it as the pinnacle of his collection so far and he is proud of it. The guy made his choices and he didn't post here to be berated and belittled by a bunch of older guys that claim to have more life experience all the while treating him like dirt and throwing around their superior stance on how to spend money.
Normally, I'd agree with you and keep my big mouth shut...but he specifically came and said: Everyone's advice has been along the lines of "It's dumb to keep the M2, get rid of it." Had someone said "I just lost my job and I don't know what to do, because I need money and I have a M2, should I sell it?" we would be more sympathetic. "I just blew a large chunk of an inheritance on a 100% useless video game system, help me get money!"....just points at such a blatantly obvious solution that it's not hard for us to get a tad snarky.
I get that. I mean my first comment wasn't exactly fatherly and nice. I just think some of the bashing is getting a bit out of hand. He's not acting like he needs money ASAP. He's just looking for alternative means to make some money. He bought an M2. It's his now and he wants to keep it. He's not bitching about how much it cost or not being able to make the rent because of it. Post what you want and all and have a good laugh if you must. I'm just saying maybe we should treat him a little less like a complete moron as his decisions so far haven't been too monumentally foolish. Feel free to disagree with me. I'm sure alot of you will. I'm just in a grouchy mood as I got nearly zero sleep last night and was up nearly vomiting for what reasons I can not even understand. My body just hates me sometimes.
Actually I am 14 and I do have some programming skills and hope to actually use the m2 for something. Why did I buy it you may ask? no it wasn't so people on the internet would be impressed or any of that bullshit it was so I could complete my collection. You see I am a collector I mean sure I still play all my consoles in fact the only console I don't play is my M2. When I get some more time I plan to work on some homebrew for it. Finally, My grandmother gave me the money I didn't ask for it and she gave the same amount to everyone. I am not going to sell it because I honestly like it. I mean I probably will sell it someday when I'm older and have kids etc. but right now I don't really NEED money I am just trying to think of a few ways I could make some cash for whatever
June 8, 2039 --Posting from iPhone Telepathic-- Dear Diary. I just found out that my so-called father used to own an M2 back in the day and sold it for a mere $2000 USD (old-style). I cannot BELIEVE him! -M2ULTRAfan
A way to make cash, at only 14... start a blog. Got to blogspot.com, make a blog, and sign up for a google adsense account. Post on your blog every day, so people will keep coming back. Start with pictures of your M2 and other video game stuff. That would be a good blog actually, rare game collecting from a teenage perspective. If you actually do this I recommend you try to write it for real, i.e. use real punctuation and sentence structure and tone down the lolspeak or whatever. Write it like you're writing for a newspaper or something, like try to make it professional. Else you could just go the total opposite direction, like try to make the most annoying blog ever. In fact if you don't make the most annoying blog ever I will.
Okay thanks. Not surprised you stuck up for me Japan Games since I have spent a ton of cash buying 64dd stuff too
