Gizmodo destroys a Dreamcast and a N64

Ironic they do this just while I was wondering whats gonna be when all GD drives start failing and we wont be able to run games on our DCs...

Gizmodo destroyed a bunch of gadgets using a crusher from geek squad.

Among the victims where a Dreamcast and a N64 and both seem to be in good conditions, which makes me wonder why the hell they decided to destroy them.

Some of the comments are funny, others are kinda disturbing...

i think those assholes smashing consoles on their day of launch are more in the "wrong" since people really get pissed off when they want something new.

There was an article like a year ago proving that these idiots actually DO get the money from donations from other (even more idiotic may I add) individuals.

While personally I think it's a waste (I can always use more N64s) they bought the consoles and have the right to do whatever the hell they want to do with them.

 

It is indeed a total waste and it is just meaningless in my opinion. It could only appeal to 15 year olds who have no fond memories about those systems... but then, sadly, that's the majority of contemporary gamers.

 

Actually most gamers are between 19 and 35 yrs old...

 

Im 16 and I find crushing anything working is wasteful.
I personally think sega is just for people that couldn't let go of the 80's, but I still find the destruction of the dreamcast stupid. Its a classic system thats lasted for 12 or so years and they killed it.

Also, what a waste of plastic! Do they know that plastic never biodegrades? It will last forever! (Almost)

they crushed a Cybiko an Cybiko Xtreme! I still have my Cybiko... I loved hacking that PDA! xD Too bad the batteries were proprietary and don't hold charges anymore.... so now I can't use it.

 

This is so stupid. I can't understand why you would destroy a Dreamcast; sure they're not rare but one day a working one will be.
