I Got a unit from a pawn shop for $20.00, guy told me the laser was bad.

Well, it's a GLOD and needs and RSX reball or reflow.

Should I just junk it or are any of the sketchy methods all over ebay nonsense?

$20 I will just pull the hdd and sell the parts I guess. Or use it for a door stop.

Pull out the Blu-Ray drive! Those are still worth decent money even in non-working condition.

Motherboard isn't worth anything at this point, and the HDD isn't worth the hassle to sell. (but good to keep as a spare)

If the case is in good condition use it as a shell for a more beat up model, or you can go redneck and use it for target practice.

GLOD are usually result of goof up at downgrade attempt (corrupted boot loader for example).

Am I the only one that read GOLD instead of GLOD?
