gmail sucks, well their privacy statement does. basically... you have none. receive an attachment, they can view it. they can read the whole e-mail. that's what I seem to remember, anyway
yeah.. they are going to have 100000 monkeys reading your love email to some1 you dont even know, no. it just scans the email for keywords, like anime, porn, evangelion, aids and shit like that, and sends spam to your spam folder.
Interesting views on it on some respected sites: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/wlg/4707 http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/04/03/google_mail_is_evil_privacy/ Here's my favourite bit: Hmm.
And other email services would never ever do anything like that. Also remember that when it all comes down to it, a 'privacy statement' is just a bunch of text.
GMail is a pathetic service. 1 GB of email space in return for my privacy? Oh sure, no problem! Here's my password, credit card info, social security # and bank account info too! Have fun! Humans can read that information too, as it stays on Google's severs for a long time. Who's not to say unscrupolous people will take advantage of that?
