Alright, I'll fly to Hong Kong next summer with a friend of me. Now I wanted to ask if you could recommend any Shops, Resturants, Hotels (since we don't know where to stay yet) and other places one should see in Hong Kong.

    Thanks in advance :)

The peak is worth seeing on a clear day/night...........from the top with pda/camera phone

Avoid when cloudy as lousy view.............half way up and rubbish

The Star Ferry is HK$2.20 per journey so peanuts.....the Metro is also really cheap....HK$11 for a ticket from Central Station to Tsham Tsui Poh wherever is the closest station to GameChoiceClub :)

The place is so clean, cheap and easy to get around it is great. Discounted shopping is not as great as you think.....hardly any BIG bargains to be had. Consoles etc almost on par with us/europe same.........other electricals IPODS etc again almost the same price....so don`t go thinking you will save a fortune. Probably as many deals to be had at home.

Don`t eat from street vendors in some of the markets as the food is rough. Stanley Market is over hyped....tiny little place..buggar all there and all rubbish...but if you have to tick off places to go/see then fair enough.

The famous JUMBO Restaurant is in Aberdeen and is really disappointing......I was expecting it to be right in the middle of the main harbour of Hong Kong...but is a shortish bus/taxi ride....then a short tuk tuk ride and it is really for tourists

Check out if there is any Horse Racing on as that is great fun....and you won`t beleive Happy Valley....you almost can`t see it until you are on top of it as it is surrounded by high rise flats.

Ocean Park is worth a visit if only for the cable car ride that takes you over parts of the mountains around Hong Kong. Disneyland if you want to be really touristy.

Don`t know what the £/$ situation is like or if you and your freind are diners....but if you are you have to have dinner at Felix in The Peninsular Hotel. A view and food to die for........fantastivc views back over the harbour to the peak and you can see the building light show as well.

Don`t bother with Toys R Us if you think there might be some game deals to be had.....worthless.

But make an appointment to see Barry @ GameChoiceClub....he will be glad of the visit....especially if you buy something. Better if you can see him during the week as he had to make a special trip on to see me. Tell him I sent you [IMG]

Lik Sang were quite a way out so may be a pain to get to and they may not want you.

You must try and get the hydrofoil to Macau.....hour or two there same back...but get another few stamps in the passport and quite reasonable

There are a few walled villages that are interesting viewing.........where all the families hae the same surname.

You can make short trips to the border to see China in it`s amazing view........may be worth getting a tourist visa for a few days and take the short train journey across the border. You can see across what was marshand...buildings...and buildings and buildings and buildings...................all of which never existed 20 years ago!!!

Don`t know what else to say as was only there a week-end.

Here are some pictures from some of my colleagues I went with...I think just mine and Kelly`s...and Ritz Carlton where we stayed.

Macau was a beatiful little island. Be sure you go to the giant space needle as they let you walk around on the outside of it.

I would like to visit that place too, as well as Japan. Basically, I want to take 5months off (at least) to travel around the world.
