Team Xodus have dicided to take Xbox mods to the next level... and relese a Ltd Ed. Xenium that's plated in 24K gold. And it's tiny (what UK coin is comparable to a Quarter?). Pretty damn crazy. After all it's gonna be inside an Xbox where you can't even see it unless you have a Crystal. Same goes for the Ltd. Ed. Haloween version of the SmartXX. I wonder if there is anyone out there who collects mod-chips in general. I mean, there's been absolutely loads of them and different versions. I suppose it's as legitimate a collection to have as game copy/backup devices for cart based consoles. It'd actually be quite cool to see a collection of every Xbox mod chip.
I guess it would be a collectors item... but why Xodus took a year to fix bugs ppl have been complaining about is beyond me.
Marketing scam. You can get PCB people to gold-plate your PCB for cents apiece (it's designed for edge-connectors and the like), they just want more people to buy it. It's gold alright, but only a couple of microns thick... Stone
