Good and cheap Xilinx USB programmer?

Going to start on Xilinx in hope of getting Game Gear screen to work better. There are RGB mod and people have swapped the old and slow LCD panel with new one but there is a limitation: video signal does not auto-scale between GG snd SMS mode like original LCD so those with new and easy to see LCD have big black border around GG mode.

I think Xilinx is the next logical step. Convert RGB as normal, check SMS/GG pin for proper mode, and scale up GG screen so no black border will be seen.

Looking around, the official cable is around $200+ and I am not even sure if it's right as it seems there are many design versions and many connector types. eBay has many in $30-$40 range but I still can't tell which is right.

Any of you point me to a nice low priced USB cable for programming Xilinx? Xilinx tutorials are easy, cable is not!

 

I know Altera has 6$ programmers, so why not go for Altera?
