I was thinking of upgrading my pc. i wanted some advice on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INTEL-E8400-CORE-2-DUO-CPU,-MOTHERBOARD,-4GB-RAM-BUNDLE_W0QQitemZ320424392070QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090915?IMSfp=TL090915138003r39634#ht_1858wt_1165 Thanks.
i've seen the cpu at online stores for about £125 and 4gb memory ddr2 would be about £40+ and the mobo is about £50 upwards so not a bad deal. Biostar have been making some good motherboards over the last few years but they aren't as common as the likes of asus or gigabyte and i don't really know the performance of a p43 chipsets but they seem to be pretty good from the bits of info i've read saying that gen 2 pci-e gfx slot gives it better performance over a p35 based motherboard. The main factor though is what purpose you want for your machine and what gfx card you'll use.
Well i currently am currently aiming to build a system that would run FSX well. i currently have a Nvidia 8500 GT 1GB that will hopefully get upgraded soon. Maybe after the Intel i5 becomes more popular the prices will drop even more so do you think i should wait or just get an i5.
I would suggest upgrading the 8500gt as its a lower end card and will struggle with FSX. As for the i5's, i'd say if you really want one and can afford it then they are pretty good straight away so it depends if you want to wait till prices come down and get a core2duo or not.
