I missed the DC ship when they were current (and ever since) and have recently decided to get one.

Other than Crazy Taxi and Ready 2 Rumble - I dont know anything about DC games.

    What should I play??

    Rez
    Fast Striker
    Daytona USA 2001
    Shenmue (1 & 2)
House of the dead 2 (if you have a gun)
Sega Rally 2 (worth a look)
Jet Set Radio (the US version is called Jet Grind Radio)

You may want to look into doing the SD card mod as well, it's pretty simple and means you can try/play games without having to burn. Though not all games work that way.

SD card mod and VGA mod are already WIP. Im doing it with intention of being able to get back into the console easily - which is causing delay.

If I was just running wires around, I could do it now and wouldnt take long.

I really enjoyed Cannon Spike and Grandia 2. Also, Space Channel 5 and Chu Chu Rocket are pretty fun and cheap.

Man it is my most beloved system with memories of all sorts

    Soul Calibur
    DOA2 LE
    Skies of Arcadia
    Sword of Beserk
Resident Evil /Biohazard Series (Especially Biohazard Code Veronica Complete)
    Mars Matrix
    D2
    Grandia 2
    Alone in the Dark 4
    Ikaruga
    Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2
    Headhunter
    The Nomad Soul
    Carrier
Mertoplis Street Racer (Project Gotham predecessor)
Street Fighter (to many to list man)
    Rez
Typing of the Dead (was really fin IMO)
    Spiderman
    Evil Dead
Maken X (Atlus never let's you down)
    Soul Reaver
Project Justice aka Rival Schools 2
    Armada
    Star Lancer
    Tony Hawk Series
    Nightmare Creatures 2
    Tomb Raider Series
    Jet Set Radio
    Sega GT 1/2/Rally
    Sonic Adventure 1/2
    Samba de Amigo
    Cool Cool Toon
    Last Samurai
    Capcom vs SNK 1/2
    Propeller Arena
Half Life (and it's many mods!!)
Shenmue 1/2 (the 99 minute English rip is better then retail IMO)
Rayman 2 (even supports wide screen and looks great in 720p!! I use a VGA upscaler and 1080p is to much and distorts images but 720p is just right)

Man I could go on and on as you can see I am a fan of the Dreamcast and could go on for hours.

    EDIT

How could I forget the party game I spent most of my time with my wife!!! South Park Chef's Luv Shack is just the bees knees!!!!

Yea it had a small but powerful library, I could live with just a Dreamcast for the rest of my life if I had to choose just one deck.

    I like...

RPG, Side shooters (r-type, zero wing, etc)

then stuff you only really found in arcades - crazy taxi, etc

FPS never really done it for me since tribes 1

Theres definitely a few listed that look like my type of game.

Dreamcast's perfect for arcade conversion games, so many your spoiled for choice.
If you like side scrolling shooters then get Border Down if you can.

I also love Ikaruga and Under Defeat. Fantastic shooters. Oh get an arcade stick as well!

Arr, ye mentioned my beloved Half-Life mods! I wish more people would praise them like that, no other console has a version of Half-Life that can be modded to the extent of the Dreamcast Windows CE port.

You pretty much said all the great games I could even think of. Be sure to get NesterDC SE with 3000+ roms, best looking emulator with a nice front-end for a home console!

    "Hello, I'm Leonard Nimoy"

Wish I hadn't sold my copy off so long ago, oh well they're cheap. First play through I had I didn't know how to feel them properly and gave them all the food day 1 after hatching. Good times.

Bangai-O is a good side shooter, I'm crap at it but it's great, I saw a review where it was said to be the best dreamcast shooter. I don't know about that but it's certainly worth a look.
Evil twin is a pretty fun 3D platformer, though the lack of save opportunities frankly ruins the game a bit for me
Gauntlet legends is also well worth trying

indeed it is; Gauntlet may not look like much graphically, but its a great hack n slash, specially with friends
