I've found www.play-asia.com and it sells imports from the US and elsewhere. I wouldn't mind buying Japanese titles for PS3 but some of them take forever to get here after the US release...so I'm wondering if anyone has used that site or any others for their imports. I'm new in Japan so I'm looking for good import deals. The Yodobashi Camera in my city has tons of blu-ray but only a selection of PS3 games
I use Play-Asia.com. They have free shipping to Japan. For new Japanese titles have a look at Amazon.jp. They usually have the best prices for preorders. Drawback: even if you choose the English option, some parts of the site are not translated.
Thanks cez, the prices on play-asia look pretty good too...and the shipping time is great. I've been browsing the site but still not sure if they can take my payment method (bank cash card) from what I gather I'm pretty sure they can though...guess we'll see when I order something I guess.
Other then Play-Asia Buygame2.com is good (based in HK). They take an extra day or two to order since all orders are processed by hand but generaly they are usualy a few dollars cheaper then play-asia which works out well when you buy multiple items. For USA base gamers, NCSX is good if you want things fast but exspect to pay much more for it then just getting off play-asia or buygame2.
Play Asia is fantastic. I've had over 8 orders from them, all well packed, games sealed, very prompt considering they are in HK. Wholeheartedly recommend them.
Sounds like play-asia is the best deal then. Thanks a bunch! I have a feeling my first paycheck will be going towards a slew of new games....
Very true I wanted to buy an arcade stick for the PS3 last year and the postage would have cost me more than the 50 pound stick itself :|
Well living in Japan, I believe I get free shipping, so that shouldn't matter to me with play-asia. I'll look around though in case they don't carry what I'm looking for.
estarland? I once 'bought' Dragon Quest IV for the PSX long ago from them. They didn't charge my card and I never received the item. I stayed away from it since, because back then they were unheard of.
I think it's safe to assume everyone here is familiar with Ebay. Since Lik-Sang went down (and Lan Kwei before them), I've been using Play-Asia. No problems so far.
I have run into a snag with Play-Asia though. The only way I can pay in Japan is through my bank card and unless I buy over $150 worth of stuff from them, a bank transfer (with fees) is really the only way I can pay for my stuff... I have an American credit card, BUT two issues there. 1. if I pay with that I have my item shipped to my BILLING address (in the States) for security reasons and 2. Paying said bill once it arrives...I have someone who can pay it, but to pay them is a different story I think... So I'll have to wait a few months for the JAP versions of said games to come out...no biggie I guess.
I've done over twenty orders with Play-Asia in the last three years and they have been nothing but helpful with all issues. My Paypal account which I use to pay them still has my address in Europe as a billing address but regardless of that, Play-Asia just ships to the address that I entered in their system. I don't know how their policy is with new customers but I suggest you just write them an email and explain the situation.
Man, I miss that site! We should set up one of those online petitions to get sony to let liksang come back (its unlikely, but what the hell, it might work):110:
It was Lik-Sang's parent company that shut them down. The lawsuits from Sony were apparently considered to be more hassle vs. the modest income that the site generated. Online petitions never change anything, anyway. Especially not when Sony don't have any control over whether or not Lik-Sang come back. I do miss Lik-Sang, though.
