I'm currently in Thailand in a very cheap hostel room, I'm bored out of my brains in the evenings when nobody is up for drinking and it would be nice to just have some random TV to look at. Can anyone recommend a good TV app for Mac. Even if I could get BBC world news it would be better than nothing. Thanks.
I use Hotspot Shield to access Hulu outside the US. The software itself is a bit shitty though and sometimes a bit slow, but it generally works fine so I'm happy with it.
I'd suggest grabbing the Vidalia Bundle and configuring it for wherever you'd like to watch from. You can use the BBC iPlayer with it or Hulu if you configure your nodes right. iPlayer Hulu
It does work, try shutting down Safari and Hotspot Shield and then turn on Hotspot shield again and go to Hulu. Should work after that.
It works with Hulu, but my connection here isn't good enough to stream the quality they kick out. It would be nice if there was a program that replicated a UK IP address but unless you go through unsafe and slow proxys there's no way around it.
