I'm rocking the L' arc en Ciel right now.

Plus Dir En Gray and the Pillows are in my rock folder.

But I remember like 10/12 years ago I heard this really awesome Japanese band named Smile they were signed to Sony Japan and I have not been able to find ANYTHING by them anywhere.

Anywho that said I'm expanding my Jrock Horizons beyond that of what the silly Weeaboos love.

Anything I should keep an eye out for and bend over backwords to find?

Or is L'arc as good as it gets...

Mainstream bands like Ann Cafe and similar sucks, but they play really well. I listen to many japanese noise bands, like Zeni Geva, Boredoms or Melt Banana; also like Guitar Wolf among many others.

Another vote for Sigh (サイ) from me. They're fantastic if you like the genre.
J-Rock related, I'd say Jun Togawa (戸川純) is pretty good. Not always though, but I like a lot of her songs. Some songs are inspired by classical maîtres like Pachelbel's Canon.

Another good one is Tokyo Jihen (東京事変), here one of my favourite songs (Ringo no Uta/林檎の唄/Apple Song):

If you liked Devo at all, give Polysics a try. They're kind of goofy, but their songs are always fun to listen to.

They're all over Youtube, so check that out before you bother downloading anything in case you don't like them.

Probably wouldn't call it JROCK but I heard some Tica last night and she's a pretty good singer. Nice and chill music.
