You can find it on eBay but it's quite expensive ... about 70€ shipping exclude.

So, I bought an SW-9585-C off of ebay.

Can anyone offer any help in converting this to a 9585-S?

but tmbinc, can you give some information about writing the leadin, because from what I understand is, that there should not be a leadin area, am I right?

Dragoon: Why shouldn't there be a leadin area?

    It's DVD-R, so it's prewritten...

You said something about creating compatible NR discs, and that we would completely empty DVD-R's (by writing the lead-in), so what I think is that we need DVD-R's with no lead-in area (or if the lead-in is prewritten no prewritten lead-in).
Sorry for not understanding, but this is what my mind makes of it.

Blank DVD-R? Did you mean Blank NR/RVT-R? I have a fully blank NR if this helps.

Yeah, I think if we contact a company like Verbatim for an example we could ask a price for DVD-R's with the NR lead-in written on it, and they would ofcourse need the empty (or not empty idk) NR discs to copy the lead-in.
And does a NR reader read RVT-R's if a gamecube game is written to it?

Sharing of this info will do more harm than good. This is a forum for genuine betas, not fakes or clones. Spamming members may constitute harassment and may be a ban worthy offense. Think yourselves lucky Crediar shared as much as they did - for the more capable amongst you it won't take you too mcuh effort to follow in his footsteps.

The current amount of information is more than enough to finish making the drive function. Anyone who needs more help to do so is likely going to be doing just that - making fakes or clones. Either for profit or to show off to their friends or whatever.

Frankly the "spirit of sharing" has exceeded itself here and I find werejag's comment to be somewhat offensive.
