I wondering if there is any place to get a PSX memory cards for a good price. I tried eBay and got 5 generic memory cards for $10 (Shipped), however as you expected, they are junk. Once you reached 8th memory card slot, they either corrupt themselves or game saves some how get deleted. I noticed that everyone on eBay wants a pretty penny for any of the other bands that where out back then, even the 3rd party memory cards that where out. Thus why I am asking if there are any other place I should be looking at for PSX memory cards. Thanks! =hugh
I see piles of them for less than $10 each on ebay. While the price has gone up, it's not that outrageous. You can try locally too.
Try a retro/mom & pop game store. They will probably have used ones in great shape for cheap. I picked up a used official ps1 & ps2 card from a local place for $5 each (they where half off since they were closing that store).
I've found official memory cards are a lot cheaper locally, so check out your local craigslist/used games store.
Well don't look at those white generic memory cards fool you. I bought 5 and all of them will erase themselves if you try to save on Block 8 or higher. They are total junk.... But you are right there are some good deals on eBay for lots which is what I am looking for. In most cases it's cheaper to buy in lots and then sort out the bad ones (if any). Okay guys why the hell is the Sony PSX cards so expensive? The cards for the PS2 are not that much compared to PSX cards.. :/ Thanks! =hugh
Stop looking at ebay and go to a local used game shop. You will get a better price. The problem is you're on ebay and people are going to try pricing legit ones higher then 3rd party. Because of magicgate on ps2 there wasn't really many 3rd party cards which is why you mostly only see official ones.
Actually we don't have any local game stores that sell anything that old here.. We used a few years ago, but they went belly up (sorta, they decided to become a pawn shop now and don't sell much video game stuff any more). The local Goodwill is expensive here, the last time I was in there, they had a GameCube and wanted $75 for it with no cables or controllers. As for eBay, I found some good prices for PSX (Playstation 1) memory cards, but your are right eBay is expensive for Playstation 2 memory cards. =hugh
Ok that makes a lot more sense. I would offer to hunt and get you an org ps1 mem card but once you factor in shipping you're probably looking at ebay prices (shipping from canada sucks balls). =(
You know if you have some in LOTS that you are willing to sell, I might be interested. PM if you do. Thanks! =hugh
