I'm getting married in march (no exact date yet) and me and my boyfriend are going to be spending our honneymoon in london for 3-5 days. And of course no trip to london is complete without a shopping spree. I'm looking for gameshops for current-gen and retro games, good shop that sell lot's of DVD's and my boyfriend would like to go shopping for music cd's and records. What shops would you recommend ?
There was another post here somewhere about good shops in the area...london was in there somewhere. If you are looking around a week-end I am sure there are a few people here that would assist in showing you around. I only live a few miles from London so could assist with Raven Games & CEX & the other one near them :smt023
Thnx for the offer Alan, but seeing as it's a honeymoon we'd like to keep to ourselves ;-) If you have any pointer like street names etc of the shops that would help a lot.
www.gamefocus.co.uk must have thier address on the site. www.CEX.com have their address on the site. Theres two shops one thats pc hardware crap and the other thats retro and this gen. Then its just about going to tottenham court road station on the tube and making your way from there. You can get anything on Oxford street and on tottenham court road... Also you can easily make your way from tottenham court road towards covent garden and go to Forbidden planet (sells comics, anime, books, dvds, toys, bla bla) and then you can do more shopping there. London shopping is pretty simple. Tottenham court road station is sort of at the middel from there you can go down oxford street for clothes and just about anything else.... (John lewis, debenhams, Selfridges, bla bla bla) The only other places i would guess you might want to shop at is harrods but thats not very hard to get to. As for other game shops i dont think you will find that much thats good. I guess theres always candem town. Where they have a game and a gamestation. Who do sell some retro second hand stuff... anyways thats it i guess.
London is terrible for games shopping, the amount of times I have been there and not found anywhere: a) decent b) open But, congratulations anyway, hope you have a good time!
Silverbolt: congratulations who did the proposing ? it is great you and your boyfriend has decided to get married *where is that rose icon when you need it* ?
Thnx wolverineDK and koolkid13. And Paulo thanks for your detailed explenation i'll be sure to make good use of it. :smt023
Yup, those are the only places really. You might want to look on the sites for Game and Gamestation to see how many branches they have in London. I know there's a Game somewhere up Oxford Street. Used to be another cool retro shop but it has long gone. Congratulations by the way!!! :douga Hmm, that's the most partying emoticon I could find... not sure what its meant to be, though!!
