Some of you may know GPara, a "DVD-magazine" sold in Japan in the year 2000. Only 7 or so volumes have been released to my knowledge, and I happen to own 2 of them (I wish I had the full set - these discs are pure gold) for quite a while.

The DVD's feature video footage of all upcoming games as well as trailers to games. As far as I know, GPara was a pioneer in publishing DVD's with gameplay videos. I don't know if this has been done before with video CD's (except for Purepure, Mogitate, DC Express), but it's definitely a first with the DVD medium since GPara came out the same time the PS2 came out in Japan (April 2000).

The first DVD (Vol. 1, April 2000) features a long report about the Tokyo Game Show 2000 (Spring show)! Some things shown in the report:

    - Dreamcast booth
    - SNK booth before it became Playmore
    - Wonderswan
    - Biohazard 0 demo displays (N64-Version!)

There's also a super brilliant video of the Famicom Shop Clubhouse located in Tokyo. The clubhouse still exists (and is also a seller on Yahoo), but this video is even better because it's been shot 12 years ago when they probably had even more stuff :nightmare:
They have a house full of new hardware, Famicom games, rare items like brand new Wagan Land merchandise or an entire box full of new Hypershot Guns. And they show a container full of awesome stuff such as unopened shipping boxes of 1984 Famicom Guns (20 pcs!). This is premature ejaculation land for Famicom fans.

I also uploaded a nice Gradius history video. It's really well made, but of course it ends in the year 2000 and therefore is missing some games.

The last video (from Vol. 4, Aug 2000) is a small gem I think... it's about some baseball fan who collects Moero Pro Yakyuu cartridges for the Famicom. He owns over 2500 of them just for the LOLz
Please take note of when they show his webpage in the video... like how he's bathing in them naked... LOL.... videos like this, that's just the best thing you can find. It's just... the reason why I love this hobby so much! HAHAHAH!

Ah yeah, and this is also my new youtube channel. My aim is to upload as many superplays as possible to have a comprehensive collection, united on a single youtube channel. This is only the beginning (I have over 1000 on my harddrive, all CAVE/Raizing/Konami/Psikyo games, tons of MD and PCE shmups, too!), so if you like shmup superplays, you may subscribe :livid:

...had Chinese version dual-VCDs for the 96 & 97 TGS.
    Binned them though IIRC.

Thanks for the upload, I always wondered about the quality of these dvd magazines. A import shop in new york would sell them but I always passed cause I wasn't sure if it was worth getting.

Thanks for the uploads, loving the Gradius DVD. What Raizing Superplays do you have? I always hoped there was an official Batrider superplay, but I've never found one.

The problem with Batrider is that there has never been a DVD or VHS, making it really hard to get a superplay. The highest scoring superplay that I know of features a 17.8 mil run (letter H), but it's not a 1CC (the player finally dies near the end of the final stage) and nowhere near perfect.\

What's even more shocking is that this 17.8mil video is the highest superplay in circulation, but the world record is 29.3 mil - almost twice the score O_O
I will upload the 17.8 one though, it's quite good. I can only imagine what kind of impressive video that world record would've been.

Upload speed at my current place is very slow, so I stopped uploading till the end of the month. I'll continue in September though!

I have the following Raizing (or related) superplays:

    Armed Police Batrider: Special Course
Armed Police Batrider: Advanced Course 17.8mil (Final Stage)
Armed Police Batrider: Advanced Course 10.8mil (1CC)
    Battle Bakraid: Advanced Course (1CC)
    Battle Garegga - Chitta - G.06mil
    Battle Garegga - Gain K.1mil
    Battle Garegga - Miyamoto G.13mil
    Battle Garegga - Silversword - E.94mil
Battle Garegga - Grasshopper - No miss/suicide run!
Battle Garegga - Miyamoto - Harder
DVD The Madness of Battle Garegga
VHS Battle Garegga by T^3Kamui (18mil score, but great outtakes)
    Dimahoo - 1CC by Clover-TAC (almost perfect, 107 items)
    Dimahoo - 1CC with Miyamoto
Ibara - 1-6 run by ACR (WR holder)
    Ibara Arrange Mode 140m (PS2)
DVD Ibara (incl. Ibara Black Label)
    Muchimuchi Pork Manpuku Mode 1CC
    Muchimuchi Pork - 240mil - 1CC (blue char) - that's 50mil more than the DVD
    DVD Muchimuchi Pork (included w/soundtrack)
    Soukyuugurentai - 15.1mil - 1CC

    PS: Sorry for the off-topic

I always wondered why there was never an official Batrider DVD or VHS, that seems to explain a lot now thanks! I'd love to see those runs you have though, thanks a lot.

Which Ibara DVD is that you have? I have the INH Lunatic DVD but I don't recall Kuro being on it? Soukyugurentai would be great to see too. That's some list you have there, makes my little collection look absolutely microscopic by comparison! Tempted to get in to VHS collecting though, there's some great stuff out there.

Thanks again for the info. :)
