I'm looking for a very high res version (150-300dpi at the least) of Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou's title artwork: I'd do anything for a 300-600dpi scan of this oustanding Famicom flyer though: http://www.gamengai.com/bn_inf.php?id=546&type=0 I've already googled my fingers to death, no results at all. The gamengai scan is the best I've found so far, but it's still way too small for what I want to do with it. The actual flyer is probably not much larger, but I want this artwork in a huge proportion. Any hints??
@jenkins Greatly restored, that's definitely the closest I've come so far to a scan that would suit a large poster. @an_turtar You got a PN! That collection is sweet, I'd dig a scan of Phalanx as well =)
Too bad, do you still have the original scan somewhere maybe? While the X86k cover might be the purest source for the artwork, the Famicom flyer certainly is the best piece of Gradius II promo stuff. The planets in a row and then this awesome A3 (or 2x A5?) flyer w/the ingenious fire planet artwork. Nothing can beat that nerd shit written on it either, amazing stuff. Just imagine how inappropriate it would look to advertise a today's Wii game with phrases like "VRC4+2M+16K SRAM!!"
First of all: Get well soon! Hope it's nothing serious. The pages with the Famicom flyer are actually not too bad at all, I saved the images for once. Maybe I'll be able to find larger scans someday, but I guess it was an A5 flyer so blowing it up to A2 wouldn't make too much sense quality-wise I guess. Then again, maybe it'd already look good enough in A4 so I'll have 1x A3 for the double paged flyer. Will have to think about that possibility. 40mb is the 400dpi one, right? I'd dig that, sounds ideal for what I wanna do with it: Printing it on A3 or, better, A2. You may upload the files on http://www.megaupload.com/ or similar pages in case you don't want to use your webspace. Oh, and don't you forget me that X86k Phalanx, do you? I'd really appreciate a 400dpi cover scan, this and GII's cover art are some of those that I've already been looking for for ages, and 400dpi just sound too good to be true. I really appreciate your effort, thanks a lot in advance!
A bigger version of the arcade flyer you posted can be found here: http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=1884
Thanks, will have to consider which one I'll print. Actually I like the Famicom one a bit more than the actual arcade flyer. @an_turtar Big thanks man, great service! If you don't mind I'll post the Phalanx scan over at the German shooting board, I know some people who are starving for this artwork in good resolution. I beliebe better than your scan is only the original artwork that's probably lying around in some drawer at Kemco's.
Mission accomplished! Thanks a lot to an_turtar for the scan and Jenkins for the refurbishing job! =) It looks great, just the plexiglass is a tad scratched, I'll have to replace the frame someday. But believe me that it looks much worse than in real life.
