I ve been desperately trying to download the latest update for about a month now,but the download fails at various points of the progress bar. I ve tried clicking NEWS and the results were the same again. It's really busting my balls. I ve tried both a wired and wireless connection and the download fails every single time! Is this a common feature/bug? How do I deal with it?OH:
Downloading to go from the retail version to the V2 version does take a long time. When I first downloaded the first update it took about 2 days of downloading. I would suggest downloading it, keeping an eye on it and restarting (it will resume) if it does timeout. Various updates have taken between 30 minutes to 3 hours! I recommend doing the downloads at quite times (like early morning). The servers it is running on seem to be slow, the router I was using was showing speeds measured in bytes (and it would go to KB if it was going fast enough...). It should resume the download if it loses the connection, I would also check to make sure you have at least 10 gigabytes of hard drive space too (currently the current version is taking 9426MB of hard drive space....). If that fails delete the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue file in the GAME DATA UTILITY *not in the SAVED DATA UTILITY or you will lose your save files* and try again as it may be corrupted.
I am using the PSN version. I am missing the August 2008 Update. Thanks for the post Jamtex, I ll give it a shot and see what happens =)
Happened to me too ... I kept restarting the download and it eventually just suddenly jumped to 100% ... have patience!
