A while back their was a game for the NES a programmer that visits this forum was working on called Grandtheftendo, which was essential GTA3 re-done for the NES. I just checked to see if it ever got released, and the main site is down, with people on various boards thinking its dead but no real confirmation. So anyone know what the deal is with it?
I hope it's still alive.. was a really cool project. His site has been down for some month iirc. A real shame as he had some other intressting hw/sw projects too =/
Yeah, the guy's name was Brian Provinciano, and his site (http://www.bripro.com) is down as well as www.grandtheftendo.com. I guess it's possible he's just having hosting issues, but I wouldn't hold out much hope to see the end product.
I'm pretty sure it existed. He had pictures on the website of gameplay and some blueprints made for the maps.
remembers this pretty well too. Looked liked very much like the "Driver 2" game for Game Boy at it's time...
He made open source the Assember he was using to code GrandTheftendo. http://neshla.sourceforge.net/ You can also view his old "tools" page here: http://web.archive.org/web/20051111082112/www.grandtheftendo.com/index.php?page=tools
