There is this great article interviewing Jeremy Blaustein. It goes over his work and touches on his bitterness in that mgs podcast interview, etc, but what is really interesting is he was one of the owners of imagic who had a hand in shenmue's translation. He talks about how suzuki had all the voice recoding done in japan and wanted local japanse voice actors to do the enlish version so he could view the recordings when they were finished. Blaustein even reveals how they wanted the actors to be unknowns and look attractive(yea I know it sounds pretty ridicules). Even having to fly the voice of ryo and other to japan due to the lack of japanese voice actors who could speak english well. The artical is right here. http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/03/interview_the_life_and_games_o.php Scroll down to the section entitled shenmue to read about it. I tell you this guy got the best stories in the industry.
Shenmue was doomed from the start.... Ryo gets out of the cabe and they fuck lan di's shit up. And Shenhua does a Hadouken the end now we can stop asking for more shenmue
