Green box Sony brand PS2 component video cable

Recently I found a PS2 component cable in a green package that isn't usually seen today (made obsolete by at least two PS3 era box redesigns).
Amazon shows a picture of mine, none available.

I'm sure those didn't exist for very long. I don't have the specifics but I'm willing to bet that those cables only came around in the years coming up to the PS3.

Then again, one has to also consider that the reason that the packaging might seem rare is because this is the sort of packaging that you just toss. Games, you keep. System, you keep. Accessories? not always. Video cables...? You don't expect to need that packaging anytime ever.

Regardless, I don't see that packaging everyday.

 

Hmmm. For reference I bought that cable in the same box many many many years ago for $20 on sale at Kmart. It's hard to find OEM PS2 Sony cables bc the retail and online stores are flooded with 3rd party stuff. I'd say its still worth $20+ easy. If it's new, probably more.

 

If you need PS2 component cables, just get PS3 component cables. They are the exact same thing. Actually, i think the PS3 ones have better connectors.

 

I've got enough PS2 component cables for my own use. Seeing the box is what made me grab it.
