Hello, ASSEMbler Games! Funny story; I actually came across this site lurking around for some really old stock Xbox dashboard files, but when I browsed through the subforums, I then noticed this entire forum is in fact one big official development hub! These are definitely my types of places! My hobby and interest as an official career has been game development for the last 4 or 5 years or so. I really love it because you can construct very unique and eye-catching games that no other person has attempted before, plus the fact you can craft it to look exactly how you desire it to be! Which leads me on to say that I bet that there is a tremendous amount of like-minded people here that share many characteristics and tools to help eachother out where possible, and that's why I love bumping into these sorts of places! They feel almost like they write out a new chapter in my endeavours throughout the internet. But anyway... I'm a big Nintendo fan, as well as an old Xbox lover. Currently waiting it out for the Nintendo Switch (I'll pre-order it as soon as it's available! ) I just loved the new JoyCon Controller gimmik, as well as the freedom to play on-the-move anywhere you go. I also hear Unity (the main game engine I love to develop games with as my hobby) will be supporting the Switch too, so I'm pretty hyped for that when and if I get the chance to make use of it! Anyway, enough rambling on about Switches and Xboxes; I'm going to continue looking around this amazing place! (Honestly, I keep saying it, but I am a massive fan of places where you can give/get developer support for almost every console to existance!) Hope you have a great rest of your day! -Voxel (P.S.- I was gonna sign up as just "Voxel", but someone must've beat me to it , so I just ended up throwing "Studios" on the end of my name, haha. I used to use that as my full internet name a lot of the time, but I stopped using it in about June-July time...)
Hello and welcome to the forums! You'll find loads of info here and many people willing to help with anything you need. Feel free to join us on the crazy insane mess of fun that is the world famous ASSEMblergames Shoutbox too!
Welcome here dear new member ! Being a big fan of Nintendo, I am also waiting for the Switch. I know that I will buy it, even if we don't have many informations about it. But the Joycon isn't really interesting for me, as it looks very small for my hands. Anyway, ready to get more news about the Switch I have been developping on Wii U since a bit more than 2 years now. It also support Unity, so you can also start to develop on Wii U and then port your game later on Switch (if you need informations about Wii U dev, don't hesitate to PM me). Welcome here !
Oh, nice! Fellow (former) Wii U dev over here, actually! Been working with the console for just under a year now; I also used Unity for my Wii U projects (I have about ~2 years prior Unity knowledge to add to that as well), but now I no longer really take any interest to the console nowadays... well, more specifically yesterday, hahaha. (My Wii U broke down and I need to either find a replacement or send it in for repair. ) I have tons more interest in the (New)3DS and original Xbox to this day, but I'm also setting up some Vita and PS3 development stuff too. I use Unity for New3DS more than anything in my spare time as a game dev hobbyist!
Welcome bud. Game dev you say? You better leak us some prototypes!! Lol Enjoy your time here. I've found everyone pretty friendly so far and some of the content is amazing.
Cool to meet another Wii U developper. The good thing with the Wii U, it is that Nintendo now allow indies or hobbyist to develop on their system, using Unity or HTML 5. Hope that the NWF support will continue with the Switch. Your broken Wii U is a dev kit ? In this case, I am interested to buy it, even broken. I will PM you. About the Development on PS Vita, sad that this system was not supported by Sony....
Reminder that if you do share stuff, be careful since we have rules (and because devs and whatnot). You can PM me to help sort things out (what can and cant be shared, and certainly what SHOULDNT be shared) in said event.
Welcome. Welcome to City 17. You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining urban centers. I thought so much of City 17 that I elected to establish my administration here, in the Citadel so thoughtfully provided by our benefactors. I've been proud to call City 17 my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through on your way to parts unknown - welcome to City 17. It's safer here.
He's a "homebrewer" dev'ing via exploits so I highly doubt he has any kits, seen him on gbatemp a lot but IDK. Either way there is plenty of info and experienced people around these parts to get him on his way -<-<
Yeah, I took a little look at the rules just after I signed up. Question; I see a lot of stickies with a lot of rules in a lot of different sections, so are there, like, specific rules for specific sections? Then I am guessing the rules and guidelines forum contains rules that cover the entire board? Yep, exactly this. As much as I woud love to own a devkit of any type of console one day, I don't think I'll be able to make the funding I need to try and purchase one anytime soon. I bet it's a lot of fun to explore them, especially some of the older devkit consoles!
Generally speaking for entire board, try not to cause trouble. Things get off topic fast if a chance is taken but as long as it doesn't get too derailed it's usually fine. Each section has rules for various reasons (marketplace being easily the most broken since people dont read it). File/downloads usually has a 4 year rule where 4 years since release date must have passed to be able to post files of said prototype game. Some rules are a bit obsolete for their section (for example the Dead Rising rules said nothing 2 and later, but was changed to 3 and later after a post I made) but normally it's pretty easy to follow the rules. You'll get used to it I'm sure.
