So has anyone figuired out the bag system yet? I've been working on it for about 2 weeks not and can't seem to figure it out. Cooked rice...separate baggie, white All meats...separate baggie, white Bakery items....no seaparate bags Fruits/vegetables...no separate bag Frozen items....????? Depending on the items you buy they'll take 5 minutes to separate everything into little white bags, but then they'll give you one green bag for one item that's not in a baggie. If you buy cooked items from a stall within the shop and have it in your cart at checkout, they won't use a white baggie. Maybe it's because the transaction was completed at a different register? If anyone can get their hands on a training manual showing the complete bagging matrix I'd like to see it.
Meats of course could contaminate other food, and vice-versa, so I understand why they're bagged. They also bag soaps, detergents, and air fresheners, since they give off a lot of perfume. As for the rice, I dunno. Perhaps to keep the rice tasting fresh, and not taking on the flavours or smells of food near it?
Most stores in southern Japan bag your stuff for you as long as there isn't a long line behind you. I've found that all meats get bagged in to small clear bags then placed in with the other stuff. The only other thing I've noticed is that they tend to put the frozen goods with the drinks. makes sense I guess. Yakumo
The place near me doesn't bag everything, but that's my question. Sometimes I'll buy dinner only which will be cooked rice, beef, frozen vegetables, and a dessert. So the first three get their own separate clear baggie, but the small dessert is left in the basket and given a regular green bag. So I put all the clear baggie stuff into the green bag, put the dessert on top of it, and that's that. In the end I have a bag which has three smaller bags in it and one random loose item. That's strikes me as strange...
Of course it does, since then it is a bonus, since why would you like a warm drink, when you can get it cooled down by the frozen stuff anyway ?
