i was wondering if it is still considered on the works or if it is CANCELLED. sure it could be really important to get it out if they want to push sales of the probably upcoming psp lite... any info from our ninjas?
I beleive GT4 on the psp is still in the works as it has not been confirmed as cancelled by sony or anyone
Honestly i would not expect it anytime soon, or even it to be released. They never released any screenshots of it (only mockup pictures of it featuring PS2 GT4 Replays). Same happened with GT for boys, that would be some kind of GT for smaller kids (along the lines of Choro Q games). I honestly don't think that Kazunori san and his crew are thinking in other games besides GT5.
Maybe they are trying to make an interface so you can use a proper steering wheel... Seriously Gran Turismo on a portable device with a suspect analogue controller is going to suck so hard that it could put Dyson out of business...
When I was at Polyphonys HQ last September (2006), I did see a psp devkit connected at one of the workstations. However at that time the staff was working overtime on the E3 demo, and the now downloadable version. So chances are big they dont have enough resources to develop the psp title.
I think it's all smoke and mirrors they just did a demo or target renders and that's it. It takes too long to release a GT title, the PS3 desperately need one to sell a few boxes, the PSP can wait... That's how much commitment you'll get from Sony and Polyphony... I guess porting from PS2 is not difficult but IMHO PS3 being a disaster every resources are focusing on it. That's why they released GT HD, it's a little drop of hope in an ocean of disaster to keep the remaining loyal Sony fans hooked. Doesn't seem too difficult though : Price drop + AAA titles and less BS = success. Sabre
I don't agree with it being vapourware. The assets are already there from GT3>4 in terms of cars and some tracks which will be fine for the PSP. Of course, new cars should be added and development will take time but the studio could cope with it. I think it's just a delay, but it is a shame for Sony as it would sell a lot more PSPs.
I personally would rather they spend all their time on GT5 as it would be the game to sell more PS3s, hell one of the reasons I bought a PS3 was because of GT HD. I have a PSP and there is no way in hell I would buy GT Porty as it would be a joke to play.
Well if we won't see anything by E3 I'm calling this dead or maybe it was just a tech demo to show off what the PSP can do?
